Perseverance: The ability to persist an undertaking in spite of difficulties.
“The best way to improve one’s taiji is to devote more time practicing it.” - Master Jou, Tsung Hwa
Tai Chi is different than many other martial arts. It does not set quick goals with instant gratification. There are no “ranks or levels”. One does not reactive a black belt in three to five years from a "McDojo". Tai chi requires sincerity, practice, patience, discipline and consistency. It is intended to be studied for a lifetime. Without the badges, belts, certificates or diplomas, many people loose interest and drop out.
But for those who continue to stick with the practice, Tai Chi unfolds its vast array of treasures. It connects and transforms our body, mind and soul. By practice and perseverance, Tai Chi becomes a way of life. It helps define who we are and how we relate to the world.
“The depth of Tai Chi has no limit. When the limit is reached, there is no more art.”
